Sealing the wood is a simple solution to help keep your deck or fence safe, sound, and looking great.

​Sealing wooden objects will extend their lives and improve their looks. Clear sealers can help keep the wood looking natural, allowing it to gradually gray and be re-cleaned and restored each visit. A seal treatment can last 1-5 years depending on the amount of sunlight, location to trees, and moisture on the deck. Having the sealer also prevents it from the process of wetting and drying during the different seasons. When precipitation or moisture enters into the wood, to dry itself out the wood expands or contracts as it heats in the sunlight. Over repeated rain cycles and multiple seasons it causes warping, splitting, cracking, and splinters. After these repeated cycles if left untreated the wood will degrade much faster causing potentially costly repairs. We use top rated commercial grade penetrating clear sealant that helps prevent this process from occurring from within the wood. If the water is not allowed deep into the core of the wood it greatly reduces the chances of rapid wood deterioration. These sealers do much better than cheaper sealants that just lay a thin film on the surface of the wood. It’s always best to do the sealing soon after the deck is cleaned and then reapply the sealant every year to five years, depending on the surroundings you live in.
